Why Australian Product Guide avoids one universal winner
A product that is excellent for one household can be a poor fit for another because budget, workflow, space or priorities differ.

Common questions
Home printers buying questions
Ink tank or cartridge printer?
Ink tanks suit shoppers expecting higher print volumes and willing to pay more upfront; cartridge models can make more sense for lighter use where purchase cost and compactness matter more.
Do I need an automatic document feeder?
An ADF matters when you regularly scan or copy multi-page documents. A flatbed-only printer is simpler but requires each page to be placed manually.
Is automatic duplex worth prioritising?
If you frequently print documents, automatic two-sided printing reduces manual handling and paper use. It matters less for occasional single-page or photo printing.
Why are current prices not used as recommendation scores?
Retail pricing changes quickly. Australian Product Guide separates product capability from current retailer offers so a temporary discount does not make an unsuitable printer rank higher.
